WedUploader gives guests a web page or QR code to upload wedding photos and videos, and sends every file straight into your own Google Drive. It is a clean solution for collecting originals. The limit appears afterwards: a Drive folder with 1,800 files is an archive, not something guests enjoy browsing, and nobody can easily find the photos they are in. That is when people look for a WedUploader alternative, or for a second step after it.
What WedUploader does
According to WedUploader's website in October 2026:
- Guests upload photos and videos from any web browser, via a URL or QR code, without an app.
- Files go directly to the couple's Google Drive; WedUploader itself does not keep them.
- Uploads are in original quality, with no stated limit on uploads or guests.
- Albums do not expire, and the service is free for guests.
Because the files live in your Drive, you control them, and they count against your Google storage.
Where a Drive folder falls short
- Guests cannot find themselves. A folder shows file names and thumbnails. Finding the eight photos you are in among 1,800 means scrolling everything.
- No approval step before sharing. If you share the folder, everyone sees everything that was uploaded, including accidental screenshots.
- Sharing a Drive folder is awkward on phones. Guests land in a file list, sometimes prompted to open the Drive app.
- The photographer's set is elsewhere. The professional photos usually arrive later, in a different gallery.
WedUploader vs Event Face Finder
| WedUploader | Event Face Finder | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Collect guest photos and videos into your Google Drive | Deliver one gallery where each guest finds their photos |
| Guest uploads | Photos and videos, any browser | Photos only, browser camera or library, per-guest limit |
| Approval before others see them | Depends on how you share the Drive folder | Every guest photo approved by the organizer |
| Where files live | Your Google Drive | Event Face Finder, for the period you choose |
| Photographer's photos | Separate | Imported, including straight from Google Drive |
| Finding your own photos | Browse the folder | Selfie search across the event |

The two-step setup many couples use
You do not have to choose one. A practical sequence:
- Collect with WedUploader during the wedding, so every original lands in your Drive.
- Select the guest photos you want to share, and put them in a Drive folder with the photographer's delivery.
- Share that folder through Event Face Finder: import it from Google Drive, then send guests one link. Each guest takes a selfie in the browser and sees the photos they likely appear in.
Or skip the first step: Event Face Finder can accept guest photos directly, with a limit per guest and your approval before they appear.
Which one to choose
Keep WedUploader if your priority is getting every original photo and video into your own Drive, and you will curate the album yourself later.
Choose Event Face Finder if your priority is that 150 guests get their photos without you sending them one by one, including the photographer's set.
For the Drive side of the decision, read Google Drive or a dedicated event gallery?, and for other upload tools, the wedding photo app comparison.
Collect guest photos and let everyone find theirs
Guests add photos from their phone browser, you approve them, and everyone finds the pictures they appear in with a selfie. One price per event, no app to install.
