To collect photos taken by guests, give them one shared album or upload destination, explain how to contribute and test it from a guest phone. A QR code can open that destination, but it does not create an upload feature by itself. Keep this collection link separate from the photographer's finished gallery.
Event Face Finder currently delivers photos added by the organizer; its guest page is for searching those photos with a selfie. It is not a guest photo upload inbox.
Choose a contribution destination
For a small group, a collaborative album may be enough. For a larger event, evaluate tools that explicitly support guest uploads. Test whether people can contribute photos from the devices and accounts they will actually use.
Google Photos documents shared albums with guest contributions. Check the album's collaboration setting before asking people to add images. Other album services have their own contribution rules.
Decide whether you want images only or also videos, captions and the contributor's name. Check accepted file types, capacity and the steps required to upload. Do not promise anonymous or account-free contributions until you have tested them.
Separate collecting from delivering
Use two clear labels when both journeys exist:
- Share photos you took: opens the contribution destination.
- Find the photographer's photos: opens the edited delivery gallery.
A single “event photos” label can leave guests unsure whether they should upload or search. Put the right instruction beside each QR code and include a typed link as a fallback.
For the delivery side, use the event photo sharing guide.
Write a short invitation
Took photos at [event]? Add the ones you would like to share here: [upload link]. Please upload by [date]. The photographer's finished gallery will be sent separately.
Replace the placeholders and explain any sign-in step. Send the invitation while the event is still fresh, then use the existing event channel for a reminder if needed. Name one person who can answer upload questions.
Review contributions before wider delivery
Check for duplicates, screenshots, accidental files and images unsuitable for the intended audience. Agree whether guest images will remain a separate album or join a selected event collection. Keep the photographer's approved files identifiable.
If the organizer later adds suitable images to an Event Face Finder event, those files must be uploaded or imported and prepared there. An external album is not searched automatically.
Test before printing
Scan the code on a second phone, open the destination outside your account and contribute one test image. Check that the file arrives, that its quality is suitable and that the gallery behaves as expected for another guest. Remove the test image before launch.
The QR-code guide covers signs and scan testing. If you need both collection and personal search, the platform selection guide helps compare those requirements.
